Matthew Pillsbury, American, was born in Neuilly, France in 1973.  He completed his BFA degree at Yale University graduating cum laude with distinction in 1995 and his MFA at the School of Visual Arts, New York, with Chairman’s Honours in 2004.  Pillsbury has been widely exhibited throughout the US and Europe and is held in several major museum collections such as the Hood Museum of Art, Hanover, NH; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA; The Museum of Modern Art, NY; The Whitney Museum of American Art, NY and the Guggenheim Museum.  Matthew Pillsbury was awarded the prestigious 2007 HSBC Foundation for Photography Prize.
