Dean Drever was born in Edmonton in 1970 and studied sculpture and design at the Alberta College of
Art and Design (BFA 1997). He has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows across Canada and
internationally. In recent years Dean had a solo exhibition at the Edmonton Art Gallery, and has shown at
White Columns in New York City, Cooper Gallery in Dundee, Scotland and the Mackenzie Art Gallery in
Saskatchewan. Drever uses the latest manufactured materials and industrial processes that erase the
trace of the artist's hand. His conceptual art comments on the repression of anger in individuals, the
perverse expression of anger through violence and it’s systematic suppression. Drever currently lives and
works in Toronto.
